about Smoky Mountain Techworks
Smoky Mountain TechWorks, Inc. is a NC registered, 501 C3 non-profit foundation based in Swain County, NC supporting initiatives focused on high speed broadband technology deployment, technology education services, and technology employment and entrepreneurial opportunities that improve the quality of life and economic opportunities for the rural communities in North Carolina’s Smoky Mountain region.
Our first priority is to attract grant funds and educate county residents on how to support high speed broadband deployment, starting with Swain County. This non-profit grew out of the work of the Swain County Broadband Committee. That committee is authorized by the Swain County Commissioners and started in 2017.
